“Change your thoughts, and you change your world.” Norman Vincent Peale
Hello, my name is Sam and I am hugely passionate about supporting positive mental health and well being in children and young adults. I believe in empowering young people to help them discover their inner strengths, enabling them to overcome challenges and succeed in their everyday lives.
I feel incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity throughout my career to work with many children and their families, each with their unique needs and abilities, including those with physical disabilities, complex medical conditions, and neurodiversity.
These experiences have enriched my role as a solution focused hypnotherapist and psychotherapist and provided me with a deep understanding of how to engage effectively with young people of all ages.
I work with children as young as 6 years old to young adults, both neurotypical and neurodiverse, tailoring my approach to their needs.

My Approach
During our sessions, your child will benefit from a solution-focused approach, where we work together as a team to take meaningful steps toward the positive changes they want to achieve. We begin by discussing what they wish to change, and then we build on their ideas to find the best pathway to make those changes happen, helping them feel happier in their lives.
Your child’s well-being is my priority, and I take pride in creating a calm, safe and fun environment where we build a trusting bond which supports the work that we do.
A bit about me
I began my career as an osteopath and went on to specialise in paediatric osteopathy, helping children to navigate their emotional and physical health with a truly holistic approach. Seeing the rise in children and young adults struggling with anxiety and depression, I realised I wanted to centre my work into helping young people with their mental health. This drove my desire to train in Solution Focused Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy and, of course, to become a Youth Fairy.
Furthermore, as a proud mum of three children, including one who is neurodivergent, I understand the complexities and joys of parenting in today’s world. This personal experience fuels a deep empathy and insight when working with families, allowing me to create a safe, therapeutic space where children can thrive.
Outside of work I enjoy spending quality time with friends and family, including my 4-year-old labrador, Django, who brings me endless love.
I love being creative and spending time drawing and painting, which I find calming and rewarding.
For your reassurance
I offer a free one-hour consultation, where we can get to know each other and for you to gain an insight into the therapeutic process. This is a great chance for your child to share what changes they would like to make and ask any questions about how I can support them. I will also explain how our brains work in an easy-to-understand way, and how the brain contributes in dealing with life’s specific challenges and what relevance this might have on finding a better understanding to your child’s particular situation. Together, we can discover ways to help your child feel happier, more relaxed, and boost their confidence!
I am extremely proud to be part of the Youth Fairy team, with my practice being based in Lightwater and Guildford. I hold an enhanced DBS certificate, and am fully insured and bound by the Code of Ethics of the professional associations to which I belong, including:
- National Board of Modern Psychotherapy (NBMP)
- The National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH)
- The Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH)
- Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC)
I look forward to helping you and your child create a brighter future, one filled with hope, resilience, and the tools needed to flourish.
